The course is being set by experienced rogainers David Baldwin and Julie Quinn, with help from other ACT rogainers. You should expect a course that rewards careful navigation and will encourage you to get off the few fire trails in the area.
The event is approximately 3:15 hrs from central Canberra, 5:30 hrs from central Sydney via Tumut or 5:45 via Cooma, 6:50 from central Melbourne.
ACTRA will run a bus to the event from Canberra including Canberra airport, departing Friday afternoon and returning late afternoon/early evening on Sunday. Details to come on this, including optimising departure times for flights. Bus people will have water supplied and tables/chairs to use at the event.
The Hash House will be situated in a basic national park campground that has nice grassy areas to set up your tents and places to park a caravan or RV. There is no power or water on site so please be self-sufficient. There are drop toilets and portaloos. We will have a large marquee with a limited number of tables and chairs for everyone's use. Camping will be available from Friday night to Sunday night inclusive. The nearest other accommodation is a small amount at Yarrangobilly Caves House and Providence Portal, otherwise Adaminaby (70km) or Tumut (87km) are the closest towns.
The Hash House is at 1350 m elevation with parts of the course over 1500 m so while it is late summer please come prepared in case the weather is very cold (both when you are camping and rogaining).
